Tschierva (hut)

"High mountains, rock, snow, ice, glaciers, and hundreds of climbs of all grades characterize the Bernina, the wonderful high-alpine area just south of St. Moritz. A steep, knife-edged snow ridge, the Biancograt, one of the great, classical climbs, leads like a ladder to Piz Bernina (4049 m). Come to the Tschierva Hut for superb mountaineering in one of the most beautiful and exciting regions of the Alps."

Charakter: Mountaineering of all types and grades, from extreme high-alpine climbs in rock and ice to alpine treks on easier routes. Highlights: Unique view of the Biancograt from the terrace. As the name of the Tschierva hut suggests, deer and chamoix can often be seen here. The hut has recently been refurbished and is now even more comfortable than before.

3 hours walk from Pontresina through the Valley of Roseg. From Pontresina till Hotel Restaurant Roseg you could arrive by bike or you could take the horse carriage (for reservation phone +41 (0)78 944 75 55).
