The tour begins in the middle of Sils Maria, on the romantic village square where the horse-drawn carriages also wait for guests who want to experience the beautiful side valley of the Engadin with horsepower. Tramping up the steep road to the Hotel Waldhaus on an e-bike is a real treat. Passing the fractions Vaüglia and Fex Platta, you reach Fex Crasta, the main hamlet of the valley. Besides the pretty and historically valuable little mountain church, there are also two inns here. Always accompanied by the rushing Fedacla, past individual houses through the hamlet of Cristins, you reach the Hotel Fex. Continue up the gravel path to Alp Muot Selvas. Once at Alp Muot Selvas, enjoy the peace and seclusion of the impressive plain of Plaun Vadret, the striking end of the valley and the surrounding glacier mountains. Return along the same trail to Sils Maria.

Author’s recommendation
A visit to the museum of the Cheva Plattas da Fex is worthwhile. In the past, men from the neighbouring Val Malenco worked hard in this area in winter to quarry the famous Fex slabs, which were used to cover the roofs in Sils.
