Indulge in the fascinating glacial world between Il Chapütschin, Piz Roseg and Piz Bernina. High above the Val Roseg, you hike on one of the most stunning high routes of the Alps. Approx. 20 minutes after the start, the mountain path guides you down to the emerald green Lej da Vadret (in English: glacier lake). You proceed onto the glacial ramp where you discover characteristic geological features with every step and witness the glaciological development. After crossing the moraine of the Vadret da Tschierva, you reach the Chamanna da Tschierva, which is situated at the end of the famous Bianco ridge of the Piz Bernina, the only four-thousender in the Canton of Grisons and of the Eastern Alps.

As there is often still a lot of snow at the beginning of June and most SAC huts are no longer staffed at the end of October, the best time to complete the Bernina Trek is from the end of June to the beginning of October.
