Surlej-Lake Champfèr-Crest'Alta-Surlej
Hiking trail
· Engadin St. Moritz
Beautiful and easy circular hike near Lake Champfèr.
easy
Distance 4.9 km
At the Surlej bridge, the trail begins along Lake Champfèr in the direction of St. Moritz. Ducks love to hang out in the reeds and it is not uncommon to see a dipper flying by. At the end of the lake you cross the bridge and walk along the Inn to the other bridge, which you cross again to return on the other side of the river. Now the path goes up through the forest to Crest'Alta. Until 1964 there was a restaurant up here, the walls are still standing and invite you to stop and enjoy the view over the Julier Pass road and Silvaplana. From here it is not far to the starting point at the Surlej bridge.

Author’s recommendation
The hike can be extended to the Lej Marsch bathing lake, which is just above the turnaround point.
