The half-marathon route to the Segantini mountain hut offers everything a trail runner could wish for on an Alpine trail: flowing trails, a challenging main ascent, technically demanding descents, and all accompanied by magnificent views of the Upper Engadin.

From the Promulins Arena, the path runs alongside the River Inn to Gravatscha, and from there along the banks of the new River Flaz towards Punt Muragl. It continues across the picturesque Plaun God forest clearing and along the forest path under the Muottas Muragl funicular railway to Punt Muragl. Here it is time to tackle the first real ascent towards Tegia Muragl, where you turn off towards Pontresina. The path descends slightly until just above Pontresina, where at the vantage point in Crast’Ota it branches off towards Unterer Schafberg. Now the main ascent of this running trail begins, taking you up to the Chamanna Segantini. The path winds its way up the mountainside, first in the forest and later past numerous avalanche barriers. At the Chamanna Segantini, it is well worth stopping briefly and fortifying yourself with a slice of homemade cake. Then comes the descent towards Val Muragl and the short counter-ascent to Muottas Muragl. Once you have passed Muottas Muragl, the last descent of the day begins. The last section, in particular, once again demands full concentration before you return along the Gravatschasee and the River Inn to the Promulins Arena.
