Nearly 1,800 ibex can't be wrong: the symbolic Graubünden animal feels particularly at home in the mountains around Pontresina.
On the Ibex promenade, that leads from the church of Sta. Maria and consists of a winter hiking trail of one kilometre in length, children and adults can obtain entertaining information on the character of the animal, its habitat and its distribution at seven marked stops. The promenade is accessible all year round. If you are lucky, you can observe these fascinating animals there in May.

The view from this path down to Pontresina, into Val Roseg and over to St. Moritz is breathtaking.

Safety informationPlease do not approach the ibex. They are in a resting phase in winter. Stress is very dangerous for these wild animals.
